This is a happy rant. First off, I want to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers over the last couple of weeks. Secondly, I have not
vanished.........just am really busy because...............I GOT A NEW JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In this economy, that is fan-freaking-tastic. And to be honest, I
stopped looking. I had been looking for so long and had so many close calls that when I lost my job, I just said screw it.......I will take this as a sign to
slow down for a bit. Needless to say, I was very upset about losing my other job, but not for reasons you might think. I felt I deserved to leave that forsaken
place with my head held high, instead of all my stuff in a box. But, hey, life goes on. So I got a random call from someone who needed a new Financial officer
and knew I was out of a job and hired me on the spot. My new job RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have way more responsibility now(which I love), an assistant(can you
say "Mr. Gray"?) and a huge office. So that is my story for the last couple of weeks. My time from here on out will be more limited since I can't
post or lurk while working. But, I am definitely still around because you all are seriously the coolest bunch of people I have come across in decades : )

Not really sure if this falls into this category but I had to put down my cat Felix Wednesday. He was 19 years old and he was the best cat I could have ever
asked for. I've never seen a cat that loved people as much as he did. He'd let you hold him anyway you wanted, over your shoulder, like a baby, around
your neck, he didn't care. I made a cross for him and we had a little gathering and that was really nice. I'm doing fine now, but it was definitely a
very tough thing to do. I'm sure many of you can relate.

I am so sorry, that is a heartbreaking story. 19 years is a good run for a cat, I'm sure you have lots of good memories to hold on to. Big hug.......

I am ranting because apparently my body HATES me. I have been sick basically this whole semester. I just got back from the hospital because I have been running
high fevers for three days... and it is the flu... AGAIN. This is twice in 2 months. I swear all my teachers think I am lying, but I am sick all the time now.
I take a vitamin C supplement every day and I don't generally hang out with a bunch of sick people.
It just sucks because when I get sick it always hits me hard. Like, I really cannot take care of myself very well. I need help when my fever is 104 degrees and I can't get out of bed. But I live with the shittiest people in the world who trash my house and won't help me with anything. The reason my fevers wouldn't go down was because I was dehydrated and hadn't eaten anything. I didn't get any water because I can't get to my kitchen sink because my kitchen is trashed from the party they had the other night. If I asked one of them to get me some soup from the store, they said they weren't going to have time. No one would even go to the hospital with me tonight. All of my roommates were home and just sitting around watching TV. I had to hike up the street to an ATM so I could get money to take a cab to the ER by myself. I got home, went to the kitchen to make some soup, but I can't because there isn't anything clean, of course. Some dude I don't know and his girlfriend are crashing on the couch and they started complaining about the lights being on... I don't even know who they are, or why they are on my couch... So I just chewed them out and now I am sure someone will be mad at me tomorrow for pissing off their friends... Now I am a pretty independent person, but when I am sick I just want to be taken care of, I don't think a little compassion is too much to ask for. I swear. Next roommates I have are going to be the nicest damn people in the world, med school students would work too. I don't care if I have to interview all of Boston to find them. |

Megan, this makes me so effing mad. Even if they didn't "take care" of you, a little, TINY bit of compassion-as you said-would not kill them. I
so want to come up there, clean, take care of you, and chew their lazy asses to Hell and back. You are way too nice and good of a person to have wound up with
such cretins for roommates. I'm SO SORRY. Are they on the lease? If not, kick 'em out. Plain as that - they can't say anything b/c they are not
"legally" entitled to stay there.
Big hugs from TN, and GRRRRRs all around. ETA: Big oversight, Erick...sorry. Very sorry to hear about your cat. I know that must be hard.

I know I've congratulated you on FB Aaron, but I'm so happy for you and it sounds like a much better job/place/experience. Yay!!!
jmayer100 - So sorry about your cat. That's tough. Meg - You have the most god-awful roommates I've ever heard of in my life! Can't bring you water, buy you soup, take you to the friggin ER?? WTF is wrong w/these people?? I want to fly into Boston and beat the wholy crap out of them, seriously!! If they aren't on the lease, change the locks and leave their crap on the lawn. They don't deserve any kindness as far as giving them the big fat boot! Hope you're feeling better.

Meg-I'm with Debbie and Holly- the momma in me wants to come up there and knock those jerks out on their assess. You need some mothering in a big, big way.
Is there any friend you could call to come help you out? I know that you must know at least one compassionate soul in Boston. I sure hope you feel better soon.
jmayer- I am so, so sorry about Felix. We had to put our 18 yr old cat to sleep last summer and it was one of the most heart-wrenching things I've ever had to do. It will get better and soon the sadness will be replaced with happiness whenever you remember your special kitty. ~Tracy~ |

Must Rant Now! | #32 | ||

OK, here goes. This might not be interesting at all, but in case you work out at a gym and take classes, do me a favor and just say hello or goodbye or smile
to the instructor will ya?
I teach at our local gym, love it love it love it, especially the Cycling classes get me going. Anyway a jerk yelled at me in cycling and said I was "always rude" WTF! He is one of the db's who always comes in, takes up a bike (there's a waiting list often) and then listens to his own music all the time. I think THAT'S rude. So today at 6 am (zzzzz btw) I had 3 men all with their own iPods so I just asked how come they came to class instead of just sitting out in the gym on the stationary bikes and listen to their own music. They said they liked the bikes better in class, and they "sure as hell weren't listening to John Mayer" - maybe that's why I got mad. Only lost my cool for a second or two, thought the better of it and went back to teaching. With the music BLASTING so I hopefully drowned their iPods out. Jerks. - well, only one guy is a jerk. Great thing was some of the other members came up and said "that guy is a real asshole" so I'm not too worried. Still, it's 3 hours later and it bothers me. I do everything I can to play a variety of music, I plan the classes, get up at the buttcrack of dawn, believe me it's not the 24 $ an hour that makes me do it..........and then I get yelled at by a little guy with a tiny weenis (I'm sure) nuff rant, sorry. ETA, turns out mini-weenis complained to my manager. Great!
I should go |

Anne, I don't think you did anything wrong, so I wouldn't worry about that guy complaining to your manager. I'm sure he'll get his butt kissed-
assholes always do- but you know the truth. I think your question to him was very logical and if I was a participant in that class (or one that couldn't
get in b/c jerk-off ignored the waiting list rules) I'd be wondering the same thing you were. And girl, you know he has a teeny weenie or he wouldn't
be trying to compensate for it by acting like a jerk!

It seems to me like he was out of line Anne. It sounds like you're doing your job, as you should.
If he's taking up space in a class that has a waiting list, he should be participating like everyone else. That'd be like me going to class and working on my own instead of with the group, just because I didn't like something they were doing. He just seems like an ass, plain and simple! |

Also, Anne - if any of your students take issue with your music choices, they should approach you first, BEFORE ranting about it. You are fun and easygoing,
but you can't work something in for them if they don't tell you!
You did not do anything wrong - and with the issue of them taking a bike when there are others in the gym, I see nothing wrong with what you asked!

Anne, teeny weenie sounds like a major ass face. I think you did everything right. The bikes in that room are for the CLASS ONLY!!! Management should enforce
that 100%, especially if there's a waiting list.
I do realize though that gym managers usually also have teeny weenies and aren't willing to stand up to other weenies even though they're clearly wrong.

Oh you guys, you have no idea how much I <3 you. What a support group, thank you.
Here's the thing, I encourage members to give me notes with their favorite songs, and then I freakin' pay for them on iTunes. Tuesday is "Fan Favorites" day where they get to pick their crappy music (AC/DC anyone?) so yes, I go out of my way cause I love it and I usually enjoy the members so much. One of the girls from this morning came to Pilates class tonight and told me Tiny Weenie had been a real prick (her word) to her in the parking lot - cut her off, took her spot etc. Yes, it's tiny and probably limp too. Viagra doesn't work and he'll have to pull at it himself forever. HA! |

Anne I am just gonna chalk it up to the fact that Men are useless.
Sorry, I know there are good men in the world. But right now, I find most of the ones around me COMPLETELY useless. I appreciate all the surrogate motherhood I am getting on here... I sure need it. My own mom is seriously thinking about flying up just for the rest of the week. I won't let her of course, cause it sounds pathetic that I am almost 22 and my mommy has never had to come to me to take care of me before... I lost it today at one of my guy roommates, Sam. He is just socially retarded and completely self-absorbed. He is the culprit of all the trashing of the apartment, loud music playing, and general assholeness. I was in the kitchen warming up soup and he came at me telling me he read something that says gatorade is bad for you when you are sick... (what?) I just ignored him and then he started yelling it to me as if I was deaf. I asked him not to yell, as I had a pounding headache, and he turns around, laughs, and says "you are such a baby, the flu ain't nothing"... I flipped a shit. I jumped in his face, crying and screaming and told him to "get the f*ck out of my sight" before I "took off his balls with my soup spoon". Everyone in my apartment witnessed this episode and has stayed away from me. Thank GOD. I know I am emotional and delusional right now, but he just pushed my buttons too far. |

Aw, Meg. Sometimes you do just need your mom though! I guess there's always the upside of living away from your parents and of course the downside.
I'm sorry all this is happening to you. I know you've had a rough go of it for awhile now. I'm sure the living situation is not helping your health, I think mood plays a huge role in health and obviously you're not in a good environment and it's taking a toll on you physically and mentally. Get yourself better and hopefully you can overcome everything else. :o( |
